What is G1ve A Buck Fund, Inc. and what do we do?
G1ve A Buck Fund, Inc. is a volunteer-driven 501(c) 3 non-profit organization devoted to raising awareness of childhood cancers and engaging the community to fund the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers that give survivors the chance to lead long and healthy lives.
How did G1ve A Buck Fund, Inc. get started?
When Gail Lopez’s daughter Kate was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma (a rare aggressive bone cancer), her life was forever changed. Throughout Kate’s years of treatment Gail witnessed the lack of research and funding needed to fight this disease. Today Kate is a cancer survivor, but her survival came with a price. Now Kate fights another battle, with the many health conditions that have come from her necessary chemo treatments. As Gail witnessed first-hand the loss families experience when touched by cancer’s unforgiving hand, she knew she had to champion for other kids like Kate. In an effort to be a voice for these children that can’t speak up for themselves, Gail founded G1ve A Buck Fund. Read more about the idea behind G1ve A Buck here.
